In her new book, The Carrot Coin Caper, ($ 9.99, paperback, 9781498414722; $ 4.99, e-book, 9781498414739) Barbara Keeton tells the story of a young boy whose inquisitiveness causes him to be perceived as a nuisance. The author hopes that readers might realize that sometimes what adults believe to be mischief, disobedience, or rebellion is truly just curiosity.
Children rely on adults to look out for them even when it seems like it wouldn’t matter, states the author. Sometimes it means standing up for them too. [The book] points out how we as adults can sometimes miss the obvious.
Barbara Keeton attended Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College. She has taught Sunday school and childrens church for many years. She has worked with children of all ages, including teens, since the 1970s. She currently works with juvenile offenders in a residential setting. She has worked as a youth care worker for the past fifteen years. Keeton is also the author of the series, The Twins Quest the Third Week and currently resides in Lawrence, Kansas.
Xulon Press, a division of Salem Media Group, is the worlds largest Christian self-publisher, with more than 12,000 titles published to date. God the Father is offering a deeper spiritual life to His peoplea closer relationship with Him through greater intimacy with Jesus Christ. Fellowship with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ is natural and normal for every believer, and is the basis for Christ exercising His life and ministry in and through all believers. states the author. I have endeavored to write this book, not for rapid reading, but as a work of the Holy Spirit, insightfully helpful, opening the awareness of the presence of God to the reader.

He has served as a deacon, lay-pastor, and an elder in ministry, leading home groups, mid-week services, teaching Sunday school, and speaking occasionally during Sunday services. VICKSBURG, Miss. (PRWEB) June 01, 2015
Compassion International, a leading authority on child sponsorship which releases children from poverty globally, will be bringing its Change the Story: The Compassion Experience tour to the Vicksburg area June 19-22. The event will educate visitors about the realities of life in poverty as well as provide an international experience to visitors who may not ever have the opportunity to travel abroad to a developing country.
The four-day event will be set up in the parking lot of Crossway Church at 1825 U.S. 61 in Vicksburg from June 19-22. There, visitors will be invited on a self-guided journey where they will be immersed in the lives and stories of two children living in Uganda or Bolivia. Each childs story starts in hardship but ends in hope.
The experience includes over 2,000 square feet of exhibit space, featuring replicas of the homes and environments of these two Compassion beneficiaries. The event is free and family-friendly.
We built The Compassion Experience in order to really bring the developing world to America, said Mark Hanlon, Compassion Internationals senior vice president of global marketing and engagement. When people think of poverty, they often think of the lack of things, the lack of stuff, the lack of money. Those are all symptoms of poverty. The real issue of poverty is the lack of hope. Through our holistic child development program, Compassion stirs hope in children. And youll see that hope come to life at this event.”
The tour is highly interactive, using individual iPods and headsets to offer visitors a sense of what life is like in extremely poverty-stricken areas around the world where more than 1.4 billion people are living on less than $ 1.25 per day (USD). In the areas Compassion serves, one in five children die before the age of five, mostly from preventable causes, and 101 million children worldwide do not attend school. Tour goers will have the opportunity to change the story of children living in poverty by learning more about the issue, as well as Compassions child sponsorship program, which tackles global poverty one child at a time. Compassion currently serves more than 1.6 million children in 26 of the world’s most impoverished countries.
