“Save America Gathering” is joining with “National Back to Church Sunday” to invite those who do not attend church, and, those who have not attended recently, to attend this year’s Easter Sunday services. Easter will be on Sunday, April 20, this year. “National Back to Church Sunday” will be on September 21, 2014.

Said Robert Berry, “We are inviting everyone to celebrate the resurrection at church. It is a great day to connect with church, whether it is your first time, the next time, or “it’s about time!” All are welcome to enter the House of The Lord.”

Berry continued. “The focus of “555 Days of Prayer to Save America” has been saving America.

Save America Gathering” was started by Christians who believed that they had seen a spiritual and moral decline in the U.S.A. The work we have been doing is to intercede for the nation through intentional, organized prayer, with the critical prayers lasting 100-days, each. The current prayer is for the purification and restoration of The Church.

Berry spoke on. Too many people, around the nation and the world, have begun to think of the United States of America like the nation spoken of in the Book of Ezekiel, Chapter 32, where The Word of God says: You are like a lion among the nations; you are like a monster in the seas thrashing about in your streams, churning the water with your feet and muddying the streams.

Berry went on with his explanation. We feel that we have been called as watchmen and watchwomen, for the nation. We see ourselves cast in the role of the prophets of old, and our duties as outlined in Ezekiel Chapter 33, verses 1-7: The word of the LORD came to me: 2 Son of man, speak to your people and say to them: When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman, 3 and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people, 4 then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not heed the warning and the sword comes and takes their life, their blood will be on their own head. 5 Since they heard the sound of the trumpet but did not heed the warning, their blood will be on their own head. If they had heeded the warning, they would have saved themselves. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someones life, that persons life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.7 Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people.” At Save America Gathering we feel that if we do not speak our message, then the blood of the nation is on our heads. But, if the nation does not hear the message we have spoken to it, the blood of the nation will be upon its own head.

Berry is the Author of the Easter-themed Ephus and the Praying Bushel, and he will be dramatizing the character on Easter Sunday, at Rock Harbor Christian Fellowship, in San Pablo, CA. Berry is also planning a series of mens gatherings, called Man Down Conferences. The first conference is planned for May 3. 2014.

New details have emerged regarding the upcoming, September 11, 2014 Great Wave Offering, which is scheduled to end 555 Days of Prayer to Save America. Planners are recommending the singing of God Bless America at each time the loaves and wheat stalks are waved before The Lord.

There will also be a recipe contest for the seven blessed fruits of the earth, from Deuteronomy 8:8, a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey. A recipe winner will be chosen for each of the seven blessed crops, with the winner will be published in one of Save America Gathering or One Church // One Voices press releases. Each winner will receive an author-signed copy of Ephus and the Praying Bushel, by Robert Berry, illustrated by Save America Gathering CIO, Toni Berry.

In Understanding the Bible: Head and Heart: Part Two: Matthew Through Acts (published by WestBow Press), the second in the Understanding the Bible trilogy, author Bob Dowell unpacks the gospels and Acts and dissects the meaning of their passages through prose and poetry.

I see Bible narrative as two dimensionalan informational dimension and a spiritual dimensionand see spiritual understanding coming primarily through the heart.

Understanding the Bible: Head and Heart engages readers in an open discussion about the gospels and Acts. Dowell introduces readers to a new process of study called PROSEPOE. Each summary chapter is first written in prose, which focuses on the literal information of the passage, and then in poetry, which explores the spiritual aspects of the passage. Dowells prose uses logic and reasoning to appeal to the mind while his evocative, moving poetry enlists the heart.

Prose explains. Poetry transports. Together, as PROSEPOE, they connect head and heart! exclaims Dowell.

An excerpt from Understanding the Bible: Head and Heart

For there is the fact of the narrative, and there is the spirit of the narrative.

To fully comprehend, the grasping of both fact and spirit is imperative.

So, let us journey together through the Bibles enduring narrative of events

And engage both head and heart in discerning its divinely inspired contents.

About the Author

Bob Dowell, professor of English, retired from college teaching in 1999 to pursue his vision of creating a new approach to Bible study. For a decade, he worked on the project all the while piloting his production through a church sponsored Bible study: Back to the Bible with Dr. Bob. The success of the project spoke convincingly to the efficacy of publishing the materials for purposes of reaching a wider audience. Thus, Dr. Bobs vision became a reality in the publication of Understanding the Bible: Head and Heart.

Self-publishing author Gary L. Pleasant, with his descriptive writing style, takes readers on a journey in his sixth book as he shares how he witnessed his wife die twice, only to see her restored. His wife, Karen, died for four minutes and then six minutes, and suffered no brain damage. Medical staff declared her a medical miracle. Pastor Pleasant invites readers straight into the hospital room with him as he relives the life-changing event. I felt as though I was right there, exclaimed reader Jean Nashville.

Included in this riveting book is the appearance of an Angel. The author leaves it up to the reader to determine if there was a visitation from heaven. Warning: Do not read this book without a box of Kleenex. You are sure to experience many emotions as you turn each page of Code Blue X2. Pastor Pleasant’s passion and faith jump off the pages of the book: “On October 2&3, 2013, I found out just how quick you can lose someone. I also hope that this book will inspire many to look to God in the midst of crisis…or just look to Him. Period. He saved my wife’s life! Twice!”

Compassion International, a leading authority on child sponsorship which releases children from poverty globally, will be bringing its Change the Story: The Compassion Experience tour to the Allen area March 1-3. The event will educate visitors about the realities of life in poverty as well as provide an international experience to visitors who may not ever have the opportunity to travel abroad to a developing country.

The three-day event will be set up in the parking lot of Cottonwood Creek Church at 1015 State Hwy 121 in Allen, TX from March 1-3. There, visitors will be invited on a 20-minute, self-guided journey where they will be immersed in the lives and stories of one of three children living in India, Uganda or Bolivia. Each childs story starts in hardship but ends in hope.

The experience includes 3,100 square feet of exhibit space, featuring replicas of the homes and environments of these three Compassion beneficiaries. The event is free and family-friendly.

We built The Compassion Experience in order to really bring the developing world to America, said Mark Hanlon, Compassion Internationals senior vice president of global marketing and engagement.

The tour is highly interactive, using individual iPods and headsets to offer visitors a sense of what life is like in extremely poverty-stricken areas around the world where more than 1.4 billion people are living on less than $ 1.25 per day (USD). In the areas Compassion serves, one in five children die before the age of five, mostly from preventable causes, and 101 million children worldwide do not attend school. Tour goers will have the opportunity to change the story of children living in poverty by learning more about the issue, as well as Compassions child sponsorship program, which tackles global poverty one child at a time. Compassion currently serves more than 1.4 million children in 26 of the world’s most impoverished countries.
